This project enhances the employability of disadvantaged and poor adolescent girls, youth, and teenage mothers through a program of vocational and skills development. Young women from the surrounding impoverished area will access training in one of three hubs including cosmetology (hair dressing, beauty therapy, manicure), tailoring and dressmaking (sewing, product repair and creation including school uniforms and reusable tampons), and hospitality (commercial baking, catering, restaurant services). The young women will receive six months training followed by a twelve month paid internship. The program will support 100 young women and is sustainable after their graduation and employment by providing funds from fees earned and products sold to sustain future enrollees. The program follows the successful initiation of the same program on a smaller scale and provides critical funding to scale up the program primarily through added equipment in response to local demand.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
