Rotary Club of Cochin Tricity has identified a global grant project for the Rotary year 2025-26. The project is a state-of-the-art Spine & Neuro Rehabilitation & Early Intervention Centre based out of Kanjirapally in Kottayam District of Kerala, India.

Rotary is partnering up with Thanal (Daya Rehabilitation Trust) to execute this project.

Background of Partner - Thanal :

Since 2008, Daya Rehabilitation Trust Vadakara has been functioning under the name THANAL, authorized by the Indian Trust Act. THANAL is a collective of individuals committed to supporting vulnerable sections of society. The name "THANAL" symbolizes reassurance and social security for marginalized groups.

THANAL has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts across 15 states in India, with a strong focus on rehabilitation. The organization operates in areas where social actors are absent, providing aid and initiating leadership programs for marginalized and at-risk communities. With 14 years of service, THANAL continues to strive for positive impact, valuing thoughtful advice, suggestions, and consideration in its mission.

What are the planned activities in the proposed centre :

1. Centre for Spine & Neuro Rehabilitation - Paraplegia Centre

A state-of-the-art physiotherapy and neuro-rehabilitation centre that aims to bring back to life those whose body is partially or completely paralyzed due to stroke or accident and whose life is confined within a room.

Neurorehabilitation centres aim to reduce disability and preserve function in people affected by a neurological condition, such as stroke, traumatic head or spinal injury, or brain tumour. A community-based rehabilitation has been designed to assist people in returning to their regular lives by providing them with emotional, financial, and vocational help and guidance.

Our superspeciality earliest intervention centres use cutting-edge technology, including foetal anatomy examinations during routine prenatal scans, to detect serious anomalies in both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies.
