Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Oak Forest

Total Budget: $4,000

Area of Focus: Maternal and child health

Activity Type: Health: General

Summary: Provide 60+ students aged 4-6 with supplemental food items each weekend throughout the school year.

We have identified that over 40% of students in our local schools are eligible for reduced or free lunch programs. We would like to provide a bag for as many of these students as possible to be sent home with them on Friday so that they can return to school on Monday ready to learn instead of ready for a meal. This will increase overall health, focus at school, and more.

At least 10 members of the club will be involved and over 50 volunteers from around the community.
