The main objective of the project is to supply drinking water to around 1,500 people who work, study and live in the 14 rural educational institutions and 326 rural homes in the Salento - Quindío Municipality, focused mainly on removing pathogens from water for human consumption through supply of 350 FBA biosand filters and containers for storing treated water.
The filtration process and good water storage are complemented with recommendations for source protection processes, sedimentation and additional disinfection with chlorine.
