Irvine Rotary will collaborate with Orange County Fire Authority, local paramedics, local nurses, Mayor of Irvine - Farrah Khan, UCI Rotaract, South County Outreach Food Bank and Rotary District 5320 to provide the "STOP THE BLEED" first aid and disaster training to student volunteers from all local high schools who are members of the Irvine High School Action Team. Students will learn life saving emergency trauma techniques from Orange County Fire Authority and paramedics/nurses to save lives in the event of a traumatic injury including bandaging, tourniquet use, etc. Students will be educated about community service opportunities in Rotary.
The training will be followed by the high school student volunteers assembling first aid kits and disaster kits and notes of inspiration for kits to be delivered to local food shelter South County Outreach to be distributed to low income households in Orange County.
