Project Description Country: USA Location: Alamosa CO Total Budget: $1,300 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: Help finance the building of a tiny hut at a legal campsite for the homeless in Alamosa CO. St. Benedict campground in Alamosa CO is a legal campground for the homeless through the Street Outreach program at La Puente Home. The Street Outreach program offers continual support to the residents at St. Benedicts in the following ways: a. Advocacy for basic necessities i.e. running water, fencing, cameras, porta potties, dumpsters and electricity; b. Management of the Tiny Hut program, including property management, renovation, new resident intake and exit, identification of potential residents, upkeep and builder coordination; c. Monthly clean-up in partnership with the City of Alamosa; d. Supply Distribution; e. Law Enforcement Education and Diversion The Tiny hut program mainly targets the most vulnerable of the homeless population i.e. Veterans, Disabled, and the Stranded. The cost of each hut is $5300 each. Grant monies will be used to support the building of one hut. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) Project is complete. Receipt is attached. We contributed $1300 to the total cost for the building of the hut.
