Project Description Country: USA Location: Fort Collins, CO Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Provide quality Columbia boots, coats, hats & gloves for students in need, attending northern Colorado Pre-12 schools. This project will target children of low-income families in northern Fort Collins, working with the Poudre School District (PSD) to identify students with a need for winter gear. To stay healthy, children across PSD need winter clothing to keep warm and dry while at play or going to and from school. Jax Outdoor Gear will provide the winter gear at a discounted cost. The average need per child is $130 retail. Jax will provide the gear for $60, a significant savings. The goal is to be ready to distribute in October when schools reconvene, though we've already had our first snow storm! Rotary Club of Fort Collins members will work to help deliver and/or distribute the winter gear at a school or two. Rotary will be acknowledged as donor. We will promote through our social media. The Northern Colorado Business Associations (NFCBA) will also partner on this project.
