Location: Illinois

Total Budget: $662

Area of Focus: Community economic development

Activity Type: Community Development: Volunteer Services

Summary: One month rental subsidy for a homeless individual , purchase of household goods for the scattered site housing program, and four meals for homeless individuals in Chicago, IL, USA.

Matthew House is a nonprofit community based organization that provides food, shelter, housing, and supportive services to needy men, women and children who are homeless. Seventy percent or more of the population served by Matthew House is chronically homeless, and at least 50% have been homeless for 5 to 10 years. The current pandemic has exacerbated the needs of homeless individuals and stretched the capacity of service providers.

Our Club will provide landscaping assistance and prepare meals in the Matthew House soup kitchen to feed chronically homeless individuals. The grant will provide a one month rental subsidy for a homeless individual, purchase household goods for the scattered site housing program, and provide four meals for homeless individuals in the Bronzeville section of Chicago, IL, USA
