Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Twin Falls

Total Budget: $9,970

Area of Focus: Economic and community development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Laundry and living room furnishings for group home to house 18 year old’s who age out of the foster care system.

The club plans to assist the Twin Falls Optimist Club with its project to convert a 3-story existing residence into a supervised group home for foster children age 18 and older who have aged out of the foster care system. These youths are often still in high school and struggle to support themselves while preparing to be adults. The Optimist Youth House will be a place for the kids to live while they continue to develop the life skills they need to be successful as adults. The home has broad community participation. Our club's contribution will be to buy appliances & supplies for the laundry room and to furnish one of the home's three living rooms. Conversion of the residence has been started by the Optimist's. Our club will provide labor for the various stages of remodeling, in addition to purchasing, delivering and installing the furniture and appliances. The project is expected to be completed by September 2018. Boys & girls are housed on separate floors. Spreadsheet in "documents" includes the spending plan.

Hi, we have saved money with your due diligence and would like to expand the purchases to include additional items described in the new spending plan. I have uploaded it into the documents tab. We are wanting to have shopping completed by October 10th and complete the project by October 15th. Thank you, Michelle

I audit this project and I approve. Great job on accounting. I did check all of the expenses and they checked out to the penny.
