In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, statistics have it that there are 2 blind people in every 1000 and 115 bad sight in every 1000. Also for the age of 40 years and above, 3.8% are blind and 2/3 have visual impairment. This statistics is for the whole territory and efforts to combat them are more in the city center. Kuje is one of the 6 Area councils in the FCT and the mostly rural population there needs eye care services. The fund will help in structuring an eye care center and putting some basic equipment. This will be done to compliment efforts of the government agency Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), the International Center for Eye Care Education/ Sight Savers International (ICEE)and another Eye Care organisation CBM. Some of these organisations have taken some councils in Abuja but Kuje is yet to benefit and it has mostly rural population.

Project Status
Dropped
This project has been "Dropped". Check the history log entries to see why it was dropped.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
