The project consists of acquiring physiotherapy equipment to promote well-being and to restore, maintain, or delay the difficulties that elderly individuals-aged 60 and over-experience in performing daily living activities. The beneficiaries are residents of the Associação e Oficina de Caridade Santa Rita de Cássia, which has the capacity to serve 84 elderly people.
We believe that with the establishment of the physiotherapy room, we will help restore, maintain, or slow down the loss of muscle strength, recover flexibility, improve balance and motor coordination, increase respiratory capacity, and improve blood circulation. Through low-impact exercises, the project will help relieve pain and discomfort, promote independence and autonomy among the elderly, and, most importantly, prevent falls-common in old age-through individualized physiotherapeutic treatment.
The funds will be allocated to the physiotherapy room, as the nursing home already employs a physiotherapist and monitors who will be trained by this professional to operate the equipment.
The club members will be responsible for to made budgets , making purchases, overseeing the receipt of the equipment, and periodically reviewing its use and maintenance.
