Implementing Partner: PKC Charitable Hospital, Navi Mumbai, India
Rotary Partner: Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside, Navi Mumbai
Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
Project Period: August 2025 - December 2025
Project Objective
To provide affordable dialysis services by donating dialysis machines to PKC Charitable Hospital.
Preamble
PKC Hospital is a charitable institution offering medical support at very nominal costs to the public, mainly serving economically weaker sections of society. Currently, its two dialysis machines out of 5 units are old and unserviceable. One machine is dedicated for HIV patients and the other one for hepatitis patients. Additionally, the hospital requires a new dialysis machine for its ICU ward.
While regular dialysis charges are approximately Rs 2200 (USD 26) per session, PKC Hospital charges only Rs 100 (USD 1.25), making this service accessible to the poorest patients.
Rotary International District 3142 has supported several projects at PKC Hospital in the past, and all equipment donated has been well maintained and efficiently operated.
Budget Breakdown
Cost of one Dialysis machine is USD 9800. The total cost of the project including installation etc is USD 30,200.
