The Project aims to provide the benefit of Solar Energy to meet the Electricity & Energy needs of 40 poor rural households in villages Hatve Budruk & Hatve Khurd, Bhor Taluka, Pune District.
All houses have an electricity connection provided by the State Electric Supply Company MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company ) with Individual meters.
Their average needs are less than I KW and the provision of In Grid Solar Generator of 1KW will meet this need.
All the Electricity generated by the Roof top Solar plant, will be fed into the MSEDCL grid and the family will not have to pay any bills. The Plant has a life of 20 years and there are no maintenance costs.
The benefits of this Project are
1)The beneficiaries will be able to use the money saved to provide better Nutrition to the Family and improve the health and well-being of the family.
2) Enhanced reliability, security, and resilience of the State's power grid
3) Reduced carbon emissions and air pollution from energy production, thus addressing causes of Climate Change
4) Expanded clean energy access for a rural community.
5) 1 KW Solar plant will mitigate CO2 Emissions of 31 tons in its lifetime.
6) This installation (1KW plant) is equivalent to planting 49 teak trees over its life time.
The Central Government provides a subsidy of INR 30,000 (US$341) to each beneficiary for a 1 KW Installation, after he/she applies to the Electric Company and provides necessary documentation. The actual cost of the Project will provide finance for the additional cost of procurement and installation of Solar Plant - INR 54,600 (US$ 625)
