Areas of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene, Community economic development
The project "Water Purification and Bottling Plant" in the community of Santa de Fátima, district of Belén, province of Maynas, region of Loreto, located 45 minutes from the city of Iquitos, by waterway, consists of the installation of equipment that allows the inhabitants to have a water of better quality and sell it to the shelters and businesses that are installed around the community. This project will improve the economic situation of families and their quality of life.
Santa Maria de Fátima has a population of 554 residents, including children and adults, grouped in 68 houses. The population has a primary educational institution; while to receive health services they must go to nearby communities such as Cabo Pantoja and Sinchicuy, because they do not have health insurance
The population is economically supported by activities such as agriculture and fishing, which are affected by the increasing or drought of the rivers, so it is necessary to supply with bottling plant, which will generate a permanent income.
Need $29,867
This project needs to receive some pledges to go to the next level. Please check the "Financing" tab to see the list of current pledges. Once the amount pledged is equal to the project budget, the status of the project will be automatically changed to "Fully Pledged". Click here to pledge support for this project.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
