Impact on the Community: Health and Hygiene Improvement: The project will directly benefit 8,500 students by enhancing their health, hygiene, and overall quality of life. By providing clean water and proper sanitation, the project will significantly reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases and improve attendance and performance in school. ★ Broader Community Impact: The health benefits will extend to over 20,000 individuals in the surrounding communities, as clean water and improved sanitation facilities reduce the spread of diseases. Improved health outcomes will reduce medical costs and increase productivity within the community. ★ Educational Support: Improved sanitation and hygiene will create a healthier learning environment, leading to better academic outcomes
Community Needs, Project Impact and Sustainability
During frequent mentorship programs at the schools. The project team visited Comprehensive School several times to assess the state of the school and identify its needs. The team also held a consultative meeting with essential stakeholders in the community, including the Area Assistant Chief, the Chair Board of Management for the School, the Chair of PTA, and the headteacher of the institution. These individuals clearly explained the challenges they have been facing and identified the needs and priorities of the school and community as water and sanitation services
