Create a network of Community Libraries in Santa Rosa de Cabal that democratizes access to information, preserves collective memory and integrates reading, writing and oral practices with technological tools, promoting the integral and sustainable development of urban and rural communities.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:
UNESCO states that access to information is a right that allows access to other rights. For this reason, the SANTA ROSA DE CABAL ROTARY CLUB in alliance with the JAIME FERNANDEZ BOTERO COMFAMILIAR LIBRARY has designed a strategy that promotes access and dissemination of information in neighborhoods and villages through reading, writing and oral communication, a project that integrates and benefits children, youth, adults and seniors, towards an integral development of the communities.
The project will recognize the knowledge and history of people and territories as an important input to motivate and relate communities with written culture; we are walking books. The stories will be stored in the Community Library, which are open-air cubicles run by a community volunteer, community leader or member of the Community Action Board, and the permanent accompaniment of the Comfamiliar Library. Technological tools will be provided, facilitating and promoting access to and proper use of information and communication in families. Experts in community work and technology will be present, addressing environmental issues, mental health, productivity, citizen participation, culture, art and history.
