Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Dominican Republic

Location: Santo Domingo

Total Budget: $34,432

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

I am writing to you as the President of the Santo Domingo Mirador Rotary Club. As you are well aware, our Club is committed to the welfare and development of the local community. We are reaching out to you with the purpose of seeking support and guidance for the creation of dental clinics in areas of scarce resources.

Our proposal focuses on establishing a dental clinic at the Madre Teresa Corletto School, which serves children from underprivileged backgrounds. For this endeavor, we require materials for clinical work, such as a dental chair, compressor, autoclave, curing light, scaler or cavitron, instruments, sterilization area, supplies and materials, as well as furniture for the clinic, including a desk, computer and items for the reception and administrative area, chairs for the waiting room, and furniture for the consultation room. Additionally, we plan to hire qualified personnel and implement educational programs on oral hygiene and dental care. The estimated cost for creating this clinic at the Madre Teresa Corletto School, located on 27 de Febrero Avenue in the National District, amounts to eight thousand dollars (USD 8,000.00).

Given our experience in conducting aid activities in different communities inhabited by people facing economic vulnerability, we aim to install three more dental clinics in the following locations: Yaco Community, San Andrés de Boca Chica Community Development Center, and La Merced Foundation. These are disadvantaged communities where access to dental services is limited or nonexistent. Therefore, the required amount would total thirty-two thousand dollars (USD 32,000.00).

We pledge to establish partnerships with local institutions and professionals in the field to ensure the sustainability and long-term impact of these initiatives.

We understand that global grants have a significant impact on promoting community welfare and the development of humanitarian projects on a global scale. Therefore, we trust that our proposal may resonate with your commitment to improving the quality of life for the most in need.

We appreciate your attention to our request in advance and remain available to provide any additional information that may be required. We are excited about the possibility of receiving support from a global grant for this important project and contributing together to the well-being of our community.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
