The Regional Hospital of Loreto “Felipe Arriola Iglesias” is located in Iquitos, Puchana district, Province of Maynas, Department of Loreto. It is easily accessible to users who live in urban areas and sorrunding districts of Punchana, Iquitos, Belen and San Juan, in addition, the hospital serves the population from any point of the region as it is a category III-1 establishment.

Given the demand for maternal and neonatal care, in the last 5 years, 17264 pregnant women were cared for, which 1563 births were premature; In 2022, neonatal mortality was 330 neonates, who did not reach 28 days; Given this mortality, it was seen that the regional hospital does not have enough equipment and implementation in first responses for the care of premature babies, and full-term births.
