The objective of Happy Schools (Under Rotary India Literacy Mission's T-E-A-C-H program) is to provide/upgrade the infrastructural and co-scholastic facilities in govt. and govt.-aided schools, to make them secure, attractive and happy learning places for students and teachers, to prevent dropouts. In this part of India most Government and unaided schools have 150+ to 2000+ students, studying in very unhygienic conditions. Govt Elementary School Singhpura is a live example There is lack of water and sanitation facilities almost non-existent. Further, in school children sit on the floor for want of desk and benches and are totally deprived of any library or play areas. It is our endeavor to provide students a good environment whereby they have access to adequate and functional separate toilets for boys and girls, Hand washing stations, Clean and adequate drinking water, a neat classroom with benches/desks, School Bags/Uniform, play area with swings, upgrade midday meal facility, library where the children can visit to further their knowledge.
Project funds will be used to provide above facilities. Timeline to complete the project will be 3-6 months.
The host club Rotarians shall be responsible for ensuring timely installation of equipment and timely delivery of supplies. They will also ensure that all the facilities are created at the most cost-effective price. They shall also monitor the measurable benefits of the project.
Besides funding the project International Rotarians shall also be involved in providing their valuable inputs and suggestions on project progress which will be uploaded to them using e-technology and shall also be invited to pay a visit to the facilities that have been created in partnership with their support.
