Kitagyenda, Rwakayundo, Butobore and are some of the oldest schools in the former Kabale district (now Rubanda district). All are over 4 decades. Most of their structures have succumbed to the dictates of age and they are in dire need of repair. For most of the classes, the roofs leak, the walls and floor are pealed off while others have dangerous cracks. All these put children's lives in danger. Some of the structures are visibly unfit for use.
While these schools are under government aid, most of the aid comes in form of salaries to teachers with little or non for infrastructure development or renovation. For a very long time, no new structure has been erected on any of these schools.
Some clubs in districts 9214, 1100 and 3310 have partnered to out together a wash project for these schools. However, their state of affairs need a retouch is any projects can be sustained here.
It is against this background that The Rotary Club of Kabale wishes to champion the refurbishment of these 4 schools by repairing the walls, floor and replacing the roof.
Under the project sanitation facilities like toilets will be repaired and training in menstrual hygiene management for adult female children in school. How
