Iman hospital is a not for profit organization providing health services to Aley community of about 100,000 people. Due to having to electrical power and at best only one hrs a day of power, the hospital is relying on power generators to generate electricity. The cost of Diesel and the maintenance required is costing the hospital way beyond its ability. The only solution is solar power system which was estimated to cost $135,000 US dollars. We got three quoted from separate contractors and this was the cheapest rate to provide the require power to the hospital. The project is sustainable because the money saved from spending on diesel and maintenance will be used for replacement of batteries in 8 years and any future upgrades.
The Aley Rotary Club has raised 40,000$ dollars to date. The rotact members and rotary members will supervise to make sure the solar power is provided to specs.
The installation of the solar power will take 3 months once the money is raised.
Need $45,900
This project needs to receive some pledges to go to the next level. Please check the "Financing" tab to see the list of current pledges. Once the amount pledged is equal to the project budget, the status of the project will be automatically changed to "Fully Pledged". Click here to pledge support for this project.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
