Project Description

Region: Western Europe

Country: UK

Location: Aberdeen, Scotland

Total Budget: $48,078

Area of Focus: Community economic development

Rotary Club of Faisalabad wants to raise funds for a brilliant young man Muhammad Umair who has been accepted at the University of Aberdeen to pursue Master of Science (MSc) in International Human Resource Management. He was offered a scholarship of £5,000 by the University in case he wanted to fund his studies by himself but he hails from a humble background and cannot fund his studies by himself at all. We want RI Districts and Clubs to pledge support for his studies at the University of Aberdeen and act as a sponsor.

Umair is an outstanding and diligent person and has been serving the community for a long time. He is a sharp, perceptive and quick individual who is highly invested in self-amelioration and has shown tremendous leadership potential at his Rotaract Club for four years. He is very ambitious about his career and extremely dedicated towards his pursuits but the only hindrance to reach his ambitions is this financial restraint. Therefore, we want to help him with his aims and efforts because he is a valuable asset to the society and has the ability to transform his surroundings.

This Global Grant Scholarship will fund his Masters program tuition fees as well as living and visa expenses.

His academic session is going to start in September 2022 (deferable to January 2023) and we hope to have the amount raised well before that time, so that he has plenty of time for Visa and travel arrangements.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
