Women in rural areas surrounding Burdwan are economically underprivileged and in need of structured training to pursue a bread earning vocation.
The project aims to develop skill among them so that they can adopt the art of Embroidery by hand, known as KANTHA-ART in these areas. This art has a good market in the fashion industry and cloth markets in whole of India and globally also.
This will be a project to keep the training process ongoing through self sustenance and expected to show early benefits by two years.
The project funds will be utilized to procure raw materials and training for the target beneficiaries. It will also fund for a mobile-training-vehicle that can reach the rural pockets with trainers so that poor women may not need to travel far to get the training. The vehicle will also help transport the produce from the artisans to the market.
Members of our club have the knowhow of the art and can get involved in arranging the training and its utilization to generate employment.
