Since Covid-19 the jobless rate has risen 34,4% in South Africa. Adolescent girls and young women are at disproportionate risk of contracting HIV due to a myriad of risk factors including poverty and unemployment. The objective of this project is:

i) to establish Vocational Training facilities and support services to equip and support 60 vulnerable young women aged 18 to 30 years with knowledge and skills to set up their own micro agri-enterprises to earn a sustainable income from the cultivation and sale of seasonal seedlings within their own communities,

ii) to improve their own long term food security and

iii) to break down harmful gender norms and unequal power relationships and gender based violence by empowering 60 young women to be economically active an succesful small business owners in their own right
