Project Description

Region: Asia

Country: India

Location: New Delhi NCR

Total Budget: $65,000

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

This Global Grant Project will be undertaken to establish a dedicated unit of 5 beds for early diagnosis and treatment of Respiratory diseases which are increasingly prevalent in the current population of India, with very few hospitals offering comprehensive treatments with dedicated ICUs for the same.

Free and subsidized treatment shall be provided to economically weaker section of the local community, whereas nominal charges will be taken from other patients to make the unit self-sustainable.

Rotary Delhi Uptown and the respective departments will also conduct Smoking Cessation Awareness Clinic to promote tobacco free environment and Respiratory Disease awareness campaigns to promote awareness about pulmonary diseases, prevention and timely diagnosis & treatment.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
