HOSPITAL SANTA TEREZA (HST) has been serving the community of Guarapuava for over 50 years, as well as surrounding municipalities, totaling 22 (twenty-two) municipalities in the Midwest region of Paraná, a population of over half a million of inhabitants, the largest geographical extension in the State of Paraná, and one of the poorest regions.
Regional reference hospital for high-risk pregnancy, traumatology and orthopedics. It is the main pediatric ICU hospital in the region, especially for a population that depends on free care. Currently, 93% of care is provided to clients/patients of the Unified Health System (SUS).
In 1990, the hospital inaugurated its NEO-ICU, even though it is a reference in pediatrics, over the years there has been scrapping and obsolescence of the infrastructure, which has lost its ability to maintain the necessary quality of the pediatric sector and for the work of professionals in health.
This project will generate relevant improvements for the region, impacting positively in several aspects:
(a) 60% (sixty) percent increase in the number of hospitalizations - benefiting the population; (b) reducing the risk of contamination, improving accommodation and facilities; (c) Improving the quality of patient care; (d) Improvement of quality and working conditions for health professionals.
