This is a project that aims to create a computer room in the Municipal School Antonino Xavier (Public School) located in Vila Luiza, one of the most deprived and remote areas of the city of Passo Fundo. The project aims to bring computer education initially to underprivileged children in the neighborhood and, later, it can be used for basic, intermediate and even advanced computer training for adult professional purposes. The project aims to adapt one of the school rooms to receive computer and electronic equipment for teaching. In addition to the products, the project intends to offer, for a minimum period of 01 (one) year, basic computer classes for the needy children of that school. The project reaches the area of focus of Rotary education and is characterized as a sustainable project, since the equipment will be left to the educational institution that will have at least one year to continue teaching in-person computing. Enough time to seek resources, public or private, or even for another teacher to be trained to continue teaching.
Technology is a reality in the globalized world, but in communities with social vulnerability there is a need for inclusion and computers are not present in some schools in the periphery, even in cities that can be considered modernized, as is the case of Passo Fundo. Thus, Rotary would be bringing the opportunity for technological inclusion with quality computer education. It is noteworthy that children in Vila Luiza may be harmed in the future because they do not have minimal computer skills, when entering the job market, when compared to children who live in other neighborhoods that have schools and computers available.
In this way we are creating opportunities through computers and classes for a lifetime.
