The project aims to install 1,100 water tanks, enabling the storage of safe drinking water in the city of Curitiba and its metropolitan region.
In partnership with SANEPAR (Parana's Sanitation Company) the project goal is to provide treated water for 1,100 low-income families during water shortages.
The State of Paraná experiences the greatest water shortage in the last 50 years. SANEPAR has carried out periodic rotations in the supply to preserve water springs and guarantee water for the population. This situation affects primarily low-income families.
The necessary rotation due to the water crisis has harmed the poorest population of Paraná, who lives in degraded areas and do not have a household water reservoir. This population is also impacted by water shortages when for technical or maintenance reasons SANEPAR has to suspend the water supply.
The household water tank has the function of storing safe drinking water for consumption and for protecting families during suspension of water supply.
