COVID-19 records and local inputs at India's different crematorium, indicate that at least 50% of deaths due to the disease in the second wave haven't got proper funeral due to lack of cremation space, arrangments or wood or any other reason. The waiting time in queues at crematoria have run into hours. Ideally a pyre must burn for at least 4-5 hrs with atleast 500-600kg dry wood, 10kg ghee and many other stuff, while taking proper care of the flames direction. Then, it should be allowed to cool down on its own before the bones are picked. But due to heavy mortality rates shortage of space and wood, many villagers were compelled to buried the dead bodies in the sand of river bank or to leave under the water of river. After sometime with the heavy wind waves all buried bodies on river banks are open again, so with the dead bodies left under the water, come out to surface after some time. Rotary Club MBD Brass City Stars proposed to install a CNG Gas operated cremation chamber to provide this facility free of cost to the needy one. We have plenty of natural gas and no much space and time required for one cremation. Approx plant machinery cost is USD 70000. Our club is ready to contribute USD 10000 for this project. If we get success in establishment of this cremation at our crematorium, it will save environment and wood both...

Dropped
This project has been "Dropped". Check the history log entries to see why it was dropped.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
