Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Colombia

Location: Medellin

Total Budget: $43,024

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Develop Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) for the inclusion of students with spina bifida in Medellín.

- Train the professionals of the Fundación Mónica Uribe Por Amor (FMUPA) in E-moderation.

- Train users and caregivers of the FMUPA in the use of ICTs.

- Provide the FMUPA with the necessary technology for the implementation of the VPAs.

As a consequence of Covid 19, the Mónica Uribe Por Amor Foundation found it necessary to transfer its activities to virtuality, without having a virtual pedagogical model that would guarantee its development at a distance. This has highlighted the lack of technological tools of our users and of traditional education, since our teachers are not trained for this type of teaching. It was identified that families do not have the technological tools to provide quality support, since most work informally and their economy has been affected by the pandemic, making it difficult for them to guarantee resources such as computers and internet access. Due to these circumstances, in recent months we have identified an increase in school dropouts and a decrease in the participation of psychopedagogical activities in FMPA users.

The project consists of the qualification of the educational community of the foundation (teachers, beneficiaries and guardians) on the use of AVA's and virtual education, and the implementation of these environments to promote school inclusion. In addition, the necessary equipment for said activities will be acquired and will be loaned to the beneficiaries as a loan. To do this, the following activities will be carried out:

o Diagnosis in relation to virtual education.

o Acquisition of equipment for virtuality

o Training on AVA's for the FMUPA interdisciplinary team.

o Training in ICTs for virtual education to beneficiaries and guardians

o Pedagogical implementation of the AVA's

o Process evaluation of the implementation

A process evaluation will be carried out to measure the development of the activities and make the pertinent adjustments. The equipment will belong to the foundation and will be loaned to the educational community through a loan agreement. The products of the activities carried out will be implemented as part of the induction content of the new beneficiaries and future members of the psychopedagogical team, to guarantee the continuity of the project.

Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
