Needs identified: Two suburbs of Powai (Central Mumbai) named as Gautam Nagar and Park Site are areas where mostly the under privileged reside. They are small daily wagers working in shops and houses(as maids) in the nearby townships. They live in temporary makeshift shanties. The common toilet facilities are insufficient to cater to this large population of 0.1 to 0.15 million. The lack of toilet has also triggered the spread of Covid 19.
Social workers from these areas have often shared with Rotary the sad plight of these unfortunate people & requested Rotary to help provide 'community toilet'.
