Objective of the Project: The objective of this project is to provide a conveniently located borehole within five of some poor communities in Kwara State, Nigeria, that will enable villagers to obtain clean, disease-free water for their drinking, cooking, cleaning and general hygiene.
Accessibility to clean water is a major problem in many communities located in Kwara State. This has led to spread of diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid and has resulted in the death of many women and children. We have identified and selected five communities where we propose to improve that accessibility, namely; Koro Gurumoh, Eyenkorin, The original settlers of fate/tanke, Abandoned Kwara state stadium and the Hausa community sango area.
Activity description: The Nigeria-Kwara clean water project will provide five (5) Motorized boreholes and forty- (40) Micro-flush toilets in Kwara communities. Rotary Club of Ilorin metro, the fastest chartered club in district 9125, our goal is to provide communities with clean water and better sanitation using the Microflush toilet to improve health and hygiene in every rural and poor communities, a six classroom block, chairs, tables, shoes for students and writing materials in the communities within Kwara State. The projects funding goal is $124,341 to impact 8,500 lives. The communities that are affected includes Koro Gurumoh, Eyenkorin, the original settlers of fate/tanke, Abandoned Kwara state stadium and the Hausa community sango.
