The Central Public Hospital of San Cristóbal, in the State of Táchira Venezuela currently does not have an Intensive Care room to attend to patients affected by COVID-19, or other pathologies. A recent study carried out by the medical and administrative personnel of this Hospital shows that they do not have the possibility of attending critical patients of COVID-19, which will generate many deaths since this is the only large Public Hospital in the region that must cover the health needs of a population of more than 2.5 million inhabitants, among which is the population of the Táchira State with 1.3 million inhabitants plus part of the inhabitants of 4 neighboring States. In addition to this, more than 2000 people arrive every day along the border to carry out their quarantine in our city and the Government and the health authorities do not have the capacity to control the quarantine of these possibly infected people who escape from their shelters and walk through our streets asking for food and medicine. After several meetings with the medical and administrative staff of the Hospital, it was concluded that reactivating the Intensive Care Unit with the equipment of 15 beds with all its accessories for the care of critically ill patients of COVID-19 and other pathologies, could greatly overcome much of the pandemic and would also later benefit many serious patients with other pathologies. The budget for the project is US$ 362,867 which is for the purchase of equipment and supplies necessary to re-open the hospital's ICU to receive patients, overseen by the Rotarians from RC Valle de Santiago-San Cristóbal.

Dropped
This project has been "Dropped". Check the history log entries to see why it was dropped.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
