Project Description Region: Africa Country: Nigeria Location: Kwara State Total Budget: $33,237 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene Accessibility to clean water is a major problem in about 6 communities located in Kwara State and this has led to spread of diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid and has resulted in the death of many women and children. The Rotary Club of Ilorin with great understanding of the global need for clean water and improved sanitation, being one of Rotary Foundation's seven areas of focus, discussed and interacted with the community leaders of the 6 (Six) Poverty stricken communities and they complained about the lack of portable water for domestic purposes which has led to poor sanitation. The lack of clean water and poor sanitation has caused many diseases. The Six(6) Boreholes will be completed within Six (6) months.
