Renewal of the ultrasound equipment for San Bartolome Teaching National Hospital specialized in Mother and Child attention

Community Need:

Improve the diagnostic capacity of medical personnel for fast and reliable attention of the gyneco -obstectric patients at the San Bartolomé Hospital.

How was this need evaluated?

The Gyneology - Obstetrics Department offers the specialized service of gynecological and obstetric ecography. Due to the nature of the hospital, in the triennium 2015 - 2017, an average of 16,772 gyneco-obstetric ecography exams were performed, which 80% were about obstetric attentions. This project objective is to improve the diagnostic capacity and increase the attentions of external patients of gynecoly - obstetrics and pediatric pulmonology of San Bartolome Hospital.

Activities planned to address the need and how the project will be maintained in the long term:

Among the benefits or purposes of the project are the medical diagnoses made in a timely manner, adequate quality of care in the external patients attention area, attended and satisfied demand, timely medical decisions, reduction of risk of complication for hospitalized patients and decrease of the costs in hospital care for the patient and for the institution
