Country: Mexico

Location: Navojoa

Total Budget: $31,080

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

The "Rotary Kids" program officially started on February 3, 2018 at the Sonora Institute of Technology. IT was first called "Leaders in evolution", having 40 children from vulnerable backgrounds. This project was developed in alliance with Boys and Girls Club of America and the local authorities.

The objective of the project is to create a program that will develop effective leadership among girls and boys in Southern Sonora, specifically those in vulnerable circumstances for them to reach their potential.

This program will include several activities throughout 10 Saturdays with children from different backgrounds. These activities are supported by Rotary members, teachers and volunteers from many educational institutions. There are agreements with these institutions to borro their facilities to do said activities.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
