Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Brazil

Location: São Paulo - Vila Carrão

Total Budget: $46,400

Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health

In our region, there are many needy families who treat and use a State Public Hospital, called Cândido Fontoura Children's Hospital.

They are in need of a "portable digital echocardiograph" medical equipment that will be used for full digital ultrasound applied at U.T.I. neonatal and pediatric children.

This equipment will directly imply the chance of children born prematurely or with some kind of heart disease, among others, in the Intensive Care Unit - ICU, where the use of the equipment will be daily to all rescued children in that hospital, increasing the diagnosis of diseases and the chance of life for all. The Children's Hospital offers medium-complexity medical and hospital care to children and adolescents. It offers 24-hour emergency care, hospitalization, pediatric specialty outpatient clinic, as well as small and medium-sized surgeries, pediatric ICU, neo-natal ICU and external nursery. Assistance in the following specialties on an outpatient basis: cardiology, pediatric surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, infectious diseases, neurology, pulmonology, psychology and nutrition.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
