Project Description Region: South America Country: Brazil Location: Lucas do Rio Verde Total Budget: $70,000 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health View Online Proposal Form TRADUÇÃO DO RESUMO DO PROJETO BANCO DE LEITE HUMANO (BLH)DA FEIRA DE PROJETOS DE BRASÍLIA In the present case, the Project is associated with the hospital institution of Lucas do Rio Verde / MT (HOSPITAL SÃO LUCAS) and the nonprofit organization that acts as a Service Club (ROTARY CLUB OF RIO VERDE/MT), to cater for 200 newborn children. It is BLH's responsibility to guide, execute and control, selection and classification operations, processing, control quality and distribution, which is the responsibility of the professionals of health. It is characterized by the collection carried out at the Milk Bank itself, which is an isolated unit, integrated into a pediatric hospital and (or ) Maternity. Donors attend for the donation of milk. There is no external collection service. The objective is organize a Human Milk Bank (BLH) in the municipality of Lucas do Rio Verde, state of Mato Grosso, in partnership with the São Lucas Hospital of the municipality of the same name, to offer human milk to newborns who, for whatever reason, cannot or could not receive milk from their own mother.
