Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego Total Budget: $10,000 Areas of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention, Basic education and literacy, Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Girls and boys baseball and mentoring program at Bell Middle School The purpose of this project is to fund the girls and boys baseball / mentoring program at Bell Middle School in partnership with Anvil of Hope. The goals for this project are to: • Build social-emotional skills (teamwork, resilience, leadership) • Improve confidence and overall emotional health • Improve academic outcomes, attendance, and behavior These underserved children don't have equal access to the same opportunities as in most parts of San Diego County. Anvil of Hope provides, mentoring along with the baseball program to fill in the gaps that schools alone cannot address. Our funding will provide shoes, uniforms, and equipment to these kids along with field trips for bonding and creating memorable experiences.
