Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas is a nonprofit organization that supports children and teens who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other serious harm. The Center coordinates law enforcement, child protective services, medical professionals, and therapists in one child-focused setting so young people and their families are not left to navigate the system alone.
The Center serves a large number of children and adolescents across North Texas each year through forensic interviews, counseling, advocacy, and family support services. Its mission is to help young people feel safe, believed, and supported at one of the most difficult times in their lives.
For teens, the Center offers an outdoor therapy space that allows counseling to happen in a setting that feels more natural and age-appropriate than a traditional office. This area is used regularly as part of the therapeutic experience. This project will improve an existing outdoor therapy area used by teens and help transform it into a more functional, welcoming, and restorative environment for healing, connection, and therapeutic support.
This renovation project will help provide a place where healing for teens who are working through trauma, abuse, neglect, or other serious harm can occur. A well-designed outdoor therapeutic space can help create calm, encourage engagement, and support the counseling process in ways that feel safe, respectful, and age appropriate.
