Project Description Country: USA Location: Grand Island Total Budget: $800 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Voter participation is trending down in Grand Island; a new mayor will be elected in November; this is a good time to encourage voting. Our club will unite behind the "get out and vote" message, encouraging residents to register to vote and to use their voice when it is time to vote. We see three primary approaches: 1) billboards--rent donated, 2) social media messages, 3) wearable buttons as we interact with community members ahead of the elections. We will also work with our election commissioner and support any of their efforts as allowable. Our goal would be to improve the election participation rate from the last two primary elections.
