Adults aged 65 and older comprise over 40% of Estes Park's population.
The funds the Senior Center is requesting from our Rotary club will enable them to provide their annual free Thanksgiving meal in November and a free summer barbecue in July, which they may not be able to offer without our funding due to the disappearance of funding from Village Thrift.
Access to nutritious meals supports overall health and independence. The Senior Center provides meal programs and food resources designed to meet the needs of older adults.
Isolation is a detriment to the overall health and well-being of seniors. Maintaining physical and mental well-being is key to independence and quality of life. The Center supports seniors through fitness activities, wellness services, preventive care, and health-related resources.
The Community Service Committee of our Rotary Club consults with the Senior Center to keep abreast of their needs. Several Rotary Club members also participate in Senior Center Functions. Club members will help to set up and serve the Thanksgiving and barbecue meals.
