The Development Public School (DPS), having fallen into disrepair from 7 years of disuse is being rebuilt as a separate project. DPS has never had water, toilets or wash sinks - students and staff using the jungle. This grant would facilitate a well being dug, pump, tank and tower, septic system as well as a small separate building housing toilets and sinks. Attendance and village enthusiasm is renewed with classes restarted Fall 2024. An active Parent/Teacher Organization functions and a group of young adults will provide security for the site. This Rotarian has founded a community/maternity health clinic in the village, visits at least yearly and has connections with a Rotary club in Owerri, Nigeria. This club has experience with grants management and is willing to participate in oversight.
