Project Description Country: USA Location: Winslow, Arizona Total Budget: $2,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Two Scholarships of $250.00 each, matching $750.00 with club funds, given to Seniors attending Winslow High School Since 1954, the Rotary Club of Winslow, Arizona has given monetary Scholarships to graduating Seniors from Winslow High School. At present, we give two $1000.00 scholarships each year, and have given as many as 7 in one year. Winslow is a below average social economic community and the money given to students assist with their being able to afford books and tuition; The checks for the school are mailed directly to the College/University bursar. Club members are involved in selectin the recipients from applications that have been redacted of information that might lead a selection committee in being biased.
