Foothills Rotary Club is partnering with Club Rotario Empresarial Acuña to provide essential sports equipment to rural schools in the Ciudad Acuña region. Many of these schools are small, one room schoolhouses that lack playgrounds, gym facilities, or even the most basic equipment for playtime and recess. As a result, students have limited opportunities for physical activity, teamwork, and healthy recreation during the school day.
Through this partnership, the Acuña Rotary Club will take the lead in procuring age appropriate balls, jump ropes, and other sports items tailored to the needs of each school. Their local knowledge and coordination will ensure that the equipment purchased is both culturally relevant and immediately useful.
By supplying these rural schools with sports equipment, we aim to:
*Promote active, healthy play among children who currently have few opportunities for physical activity
*Support social and emotional development through games, teamwork, and shared recreation
*Strengthen cross‑border Rotary collaboration, demonstrating the impact we can achieve when clubs work together
*Enhance the school environment, making recess and playtime more engaging, inclusive, and fun
