Personally identifiable paper products, such as business records and outdated tax returns, accumulate throughout the year. In order to keep materials from being thrown into the trash, or burned, the Eses Park Rotary Club holds a yearly community service shredding day.
Volunteers from the club unload boxes of paper goods from cars and load them into a shredder. The shredder comes up from the valley nearby at a cost of approximately $1000. People make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of shredding, but it is never enough to cover the cost of the shredder.
The goal is to cover costs and have enough over to add to the Foundation scholarship fund for graduating high school seniors.
