Summary: Bences for Autistic Adults
The project is to provide Eastchester St Frances Cabrini Apartments, at the former convent, with outdoor benches with seating to accommodate (12) for autistic adults while waiting for bus transportation to take them for errands, healthcare appointments and social activities. The autistic adults currently sit on the ground and curb, year round, waiting for the transportation, and the Eastchester Rotary became aware of this and would like to restore some dignity and convenience for them. St Frances Cabrini Apartments at Immaculate Conception Church, Eastchester, NY provides housing for the underserved and marginalized autistic adults of our community. The close-knit tenants enjoy group activities in the building common areas and in the greater community that bring them together to create lifelong friendships.
