Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Southlake

Total Budget: $3,000

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Distribute dictionaries to all 3rd graders in our club school district (CISD) in Southlake, Texas.

Dictionaries will be ordered from "The Dictionary Project" and distributed to all 3rd graders in the Southlake, TX, Carroll Independent School District. Once the books are received, our club places '4-way test' stickers on the inside cover with our club name on them. Then, we coordinate with the school district and have 2-3 club members each deliver the dictionaries to the students at the 5 district elementary schools. The funds for this project will be used to buy the books, the stickers, and we generally will donate some additional books to each school library which they have listed on their "library wish list."
