Project Description Country: USA Location: Escondido Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: First annual Rotary Centennial College Scholarship The Rotary Club of Escondido celebrated 100 years of service to the community in 2024. For the current Rotary year, we are implementing a fund-raising campaign to secure $100,000 in a separate account, to create an ongoing, annual scholarship to a top Escondido student. Using the interest on the account, when fully funded, will give us $5000 a year for a deserving student who wishes to continue his/her education with college. For RY 2025-26, we would match $2500 to the $2500 District Grant for our first Rotary Centennial College Scholarship. It would be awarded in June, at the same time our annual scholarship awards are made with students from our five high schools. Several Rotarians will be involved in contacting the school, interviewing and selecting students.
