Summary: Mentoring support for Latina teens in North County via MANA de North County
|
|
MANA de North County San Diego is a nonprofit, a local chapter of MANA National. It provides a structured mentoring program for Latina teens in various middle and high schools in North County. The program was established 16 years ago and has won many awards at the national level. They have an established culturally-appropriate curriculum designed to bring the girls to a college degree, a successful career and a healthy lifestyle. Rotarian Corie De Anda wrote the curriculum and trains the teachers and interns. MANA is currently in need of more college interns to guide two cohorts of mentees at the two high schools in Carlsbad and food for special celebrations (Christmas, Valentines Day, etc.)
